With summer vacation right at our fingertips, all the vibes of it are coming our way. In a span of about two and a half months, we can experience many different layers to this one heated season of the year. We can achieve this and take advantage of this season through the arts, specifically movies. Movies have the power to shape our perspectives, inspire us, help us learn about different cultures and arts, and most importantly, make us feel something. Here are some movies for the summer to help you maximize the vibe and leave you feeling in words you can’t describe!

When you think of summer, the first thing that you think of might be warm weather, the glassy ocean, and just relaxing! Some movies that have a light, and carefree vibe to them include popular titles such as “Anyone But You,” “The Kissing Booth,” “50  First Dates,” and “Mamma Mia.” All of these movies share a soft feeling to them because of the classic rom-com vibe with the setting as summertime! These movies and other films that have this vibe will put you in the perfect mood to soak up the sun with summer love on your mind. Others may be looking for something more intense and more action to spice up their summertime experience. Some of these titles include, “Jaws,” “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery,” and “Midsommar.” These intense summer movies will get you on the edge of your seat and make you think.

The common ground between all of these movies is whether you’re looking to spice up your summer, just relax, or have your heart racing every minute. Movies have a  great impact on the way you live your life and it’s yours to choose by the click of a play button.  During these warm-weathered months, try out some seasonal movies and have your life changed by the hot summer heat through a screen!

Anyone But You: A light and summer themed rom-com of two unexpected friends to lovers that is revealed while on vacation at their friends’ wedding weekend.

The Kissing Booth: A coming of age rom-com about a girl who signs up to run the kissing booth at her school’s carnival.

Call Me By Your Name: A dramatic romance story of a summer love for two teenage boys.  The movie takes place in Italy where the love will change the course of their futures.

50 First Dates: A Hawaii summer rom-com about a girl who got in an accident and loses her memory every single day. Henry meets the love of his life from a dare, but can their love get past each new day?

Mamma Mia: A girl doesn’t know who her dad is out of 5 guys and the movie has music from the music group ABBA. A story about love, family, and Greece.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery: A suspenseful and adventurous mystery movie with lots of plot twists and possible culprits.  The truths of the friends will go down on a private island.

Midsommar: A couple travels to Sweden to visit their friend and what started as a retreat spirals into chaos. A colorful and picturesque landscape disguised as a home for a dangerous cult.
