What Is the Senior Fashion Show?

The senior fashion show is a yearly fundraiser each March that raises money for the graduating class’s celebrations. This year, seniors strutted the runway at the Hilton Pearl River to raise funds for Project Graduation, a fun-filled event in June for the fresh-alumni to hang out on the night of graduation. There is a different theme each year; there has been Under the Sea, Coachella, Wizard of Oz, and so many more. Ridgewood parents work for months to plan and set up the wonderful celebration, and the Senior Fashion Show helps fund it.

The fashion show has been an RHS tradition for many years. A number of brands loan the seniors dresses and two-piece sets to wear; a few of these brands are Alba Boutique, Ruby and Jenna, Lord and Taylor and Xscape. One of Ridgewood’s students, Grace Cowie, also designed three outfits! Additionally, five hair salons lend their time to perfect the models’ hair styles. Tarvin Realtors also paid for the printing of the program. The Senior Fashion Show is truly a town effort!

Dr. Gorman, Mr. Pizzuto, Mr, Nyhuis, and the class’s grade advisor are the first to walk the runway. Following them are the students; this year there were 260 participating models, which was actually the highest number of models ever! Project Graduation Co-Chairs Roni Farfalla and Theresa Gregorio as well as Fashion Show directors Annette Testa and Karen Mabli made this event, as well as the other senior festivities this year, possible. This event would not be feasible without the support of local merchants and senior parents who dedicated their time and effort!
